Permian High of Odessa, Tex., completed an undefeated season by defeating San Antonio Marshall, 27-14, to win the Texas State football championship at Texas Stadium. Permian (16-0) has won six overall Texas state championships and has won two in the last three years. The school gained national attention last year as the focal point of the best-selling book, “Friday Night Lights.”
