The University of Hawaii pulled away from a 42-41 halftime lead to defeat the University of San Diego women’s basketball team, 84-76, at the USD Sports Center. The Toreras (2-5) fell behind by 18 points midway through the second half but pulled to within 78-71 with 2:01 to play.

But the Rainbows (9-0) made their free throws down the stretch and USD never got closer. Jill Shaver led the Toreras with a career-high 19 points and nine rebounds. Kalei Namohala led Hawaii with 15 points.
