ROUNDUP : North Hollywood Rallies to Win Championship

North Hollywood High overcame a sluggish start to beat Faith Baptist, 80-66, Saturday night in the championship game of the Bell-Jeff basketball tournament.

The Huskies, who trailed, 19-16, after one quarter, rallied to take a 37-29 halftime lead.

Damon Ollie paced North Hollywood (13-1) with 24 points and DeShawn Harvey added 20.

Alex Estrada paced the Contenders (9-4) with 18 points.

In other boys’ basketball games:

Campbell Hall 75, Bell-Jeff 58--Alex Lopez scored 20 points to lead the Vikings to third place in the Bell-Jeff tournament. Bell-Jeff’s Brian Lee led all scorers with 26 points.

Locke 58, Taft 56 (OT)--Casey Sheahan of Taft made six three-point shots en route to a game-high 28 points, but the Toreadors (9-2) lost in the semifinals of the Eagle Rock tournament.

L. A. Baptist 50, Bishop Diego 33--Matt Kilanowski (10 points and 10 rebounds) led L.A. Baptist (6-3) to third place in the Carpinteria tournament.

Montclair Prep 81, Bel-Air Prep 62--The Mounties advanced to the final of the Ribet tournament behind Kris Johnson with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Chris Sanger added 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Tulsa Union (Okla.) 79, Canoga Park 49--Glenn Davis and Arthur Bradford each scored eight points for Canoga Park (1-12) in the consolation quarterfinals of the Las Vegas tournament.

Santa Maria 67, Alemany 66 (OT)--Despite 26 points from Richard Dice, Alemany fell in the consolation championship of the Atascadero tournament.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Alemany 59, Plano East 53--Rachel Coreli scored 15 points for Alemany (12-3) in the consolation finals of the Duncanville (Tex.) tournament.

Alemany’s Kelly McKay scored 14 points, and Sam Rigley scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds.

The Indians reached the consolation final by beating Sam Houston of Arlington, Texas, 53-46, in overtime Saturday.

Simi Valley 47, Dos Pueblos 39--Sophomore Pauline Feggo scored 14 points to lead the Pioneers in the seventh-place game of their own tournament.

Burbank 37, Saugus 35--Danielle Pershing scored 15 points to lead Burbank (5-5) in the consolation championship of the Simi Valley tournament. Tashia Harris scored 12 points for Saugus (3-5).

Westlake 67, Hart 42--Lauren Goldstine scored 41 points to lead Westlake (7-1) to a win in the third-place game of the Simi Valley tournament.

Newbury Park 43, Santa Clara 34--Janim Halsey scored 15 points for Newbury Park in the fifth-place game of the Simi Valley tournament.

BOYS’ SOCCER

San Fernando 2, Saugus 0--San Fernando (9-0-1) won the Hart tournament behind goals by Luis Orozco and Oscar Arevalo.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Alemany 1, Canyon 0--Celena Mashagh’s goal in the first half was the difference for the Indians (9-4-1) in the third-place game of the Hart tournament.
