COLLEGE BASKETBALL PACIFIC 10 ROUNDUP : Stanford Shoots Down Oregon in Second Half

Adam Keefe scored 17 points and had 22 rebounds and Stanford made 16 of 24 shots in the second half to beat Oregon, 78-57, in a Pacific 10 Conference game Saturday night at Eugene, Ore.

Brent Williams scored 22 points for Stanford (10-1, 2-0), which beat Oregon State Thursday night in Corvallis.

Oregon (5-6, 1-1) trailed, 33-24, at halftime but made six of its first eight shots in the second half to make the score 40-40 with 14:39 left.

Peter Dukes, who scored 17 points, made three consecutive three-point shots and Williams scored four points during a 15-2 run by Stanford.

Antoine Stoudamire scored 22 points for Oregon.

Washington 78, Washington State 73--Rich Manning scored eight of his personal-best 33 points in overtime to lead the Huskies to victory at Seattle.

The score was 65-65 at the end of regulation. Manning scored Washington’s first eight points in overtime, and his jump shot with 2:06 left put the Huskies ahead to stay at 71-69.

Washington (7-4, 1-0) is 150-80 against Washington State in a series that began in 1910.

Terrance Lewis scored 30 points for Washington State (12-2, 0-2).

The Cougars were behind, 65-59, with 23 seconds left in regulation. They then scored six consecutive points, including two free throws by Lewis with 11 seconds remaining, to tie the score.

Oregon State 77, California 65--Kevin Harris made a three-point basket with 2:29 left and Charles McKinney made four consecutive free throws down the stretch to lead the Beavers at Corvallis, Ore.

Oregon State (9-6, 1-1) made only three of 14 shots to start the second half after leading, 42-22.

Cal (6-6, 0-2) took advantage of the Beavers’ poor shooting and went on a 22-8 run.

Cal cut the lead to 56-55 with 6:52 left, but Oregon State made seven of its next eight shots.

Brian Hendrick scored 11 points and had 15 rebounds for Cal.
