CS Long Beach Women Win
Trise Jackson’s 18 points led Cal State Long Beach past Cal State Fullerton, 71-65, in a Big West women’s basketball game at Fullerton on Tuesday night.
Long Beach, (9-3, 3-0) controlled the game from the start and led, 43-28, at halftime after making 48.3% of its shots from the field. The 49ers’ largest lead was 62-39 with eight minutes to play.
Fullerton (5-7, 0-3), which has lost six consecutive games, was led by Claudette Jackson’s 32 points and and 16 rebounds. Fullerton made only 30.3% of its shots from the field.
Kellie Bennett scored 13 points, Sherri Thormahlen and Danielle Scott each added 11 and Kari Parriott had 17 rebounds for Long Beach. The 49ers are tied with UC Santa Barbara for first place in the conference.
