An 18-year-old man will be arraigned today in the stabbing death of a man whose body was found near Horton Plaza, authorities said.

Jose Perez de Leon, who told police he lived in Logan Heights and in Tijuana, is being held at the County Jail, police said.

The dead man was found by a bus driver on his daily route early Wednesday morning, San Diego police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

The bus driver alerted police through his bus radio that there was a body on Broadway near 4th Avenue. When police arrived, they found the body with a single stab wound to the chest, Robinson said.

The victim had no identification and authorities have been unable to identify him, police said.

Witnesses told police they had seen a man chasing and fighting with the victim half an hour earlier. Police searched the area and arrested De Leon on 4th Avenue. Witnesses identified De Leon as the possible attacker, but efforts to find the weapon failed, officials said.
