Super Teams Don’t Need That Extra Week Off
Despite all the hype, Super Bowls have been crummy, up-tight, lopsided games with rare exception. Why? Simple, it’s the extra week off after the league championships, psyching out the players. Proof? Last year there was no extra week off (because of a scheduling fluke) and sure enough, great game.
Cadence is crucial to sports. That is why teams call time out on the kicker before the big field goal. Please NFL, stop this ridiculous and totally unnecessary seven-day timeout and get on with the game.
