Carlsbad 85, Ramona 60--Ryan Demirdjian scored 20 and Kewan Shariff 18 to lead No. 5 Carlsbad (12-6, 6-0) in a game that featured five technical fouls, three by the Lancers. Ramona (5-9, 1-5) got 27 points from Rusty Hoss.

El Camino 81, San Marcos 64--The No. 6 Wildcats (12-5, 5-1) jumped out to a 27-16 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. El Camino sophomore center Tyrone Butler had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Sky Harrison had 23 points. Horace Corey scored 22 points and Brian Baum 16 for San Marcos.

San Pasqual 65, Escondido 57--Senior guard David Durst made seven three-point baskets, scored 17 points in the third quarter and finished with 29 points to lead San Pasqual (10-7, 4-2). Ernie Silva added 17. The Eagles led by 19 going into the final quarter. Damian Cephas of Escondido (6-9, 1-5) led all scorers with 30 points.

Rancho Bernardo 57, Oceanside 48--Rancho Bernardo center Kirk Hipple (14 points, nine rebounds, four steals) and Bill McMahon (16 points) led the Broncos (11-5, 5-1). Damon Marrero had 13 to lead Oceanside (5-11, 1-5).

City Central League

Lincoln 114, Crawford 53--After losing a close one to Kearny on Wednesday, Lincoln came back with a vengeance and scored over 100 points for the fifth time this season. It was also the Hornets’ 40th consecutive league victory. “I never thought we would recover (from the Kearny game),” Coach Ron Loneski said. Lincoln’s Berry Randle had 23 points.

Madison 80, Hoover 31--Madison jumped out to a 30-8 lead after a quarter, and it got worse after that. Matt Baker led the Warhawks (10-8, 2-0) with 22 points, and Shane Lantz added 18. Hoover fell to 3-11, 0-2.

City Eastern League

Mira Mesa 59, Patrick Henry 42--Senior guard Ryan Cunningham paced Mira Mesa, outscoring everyone with his 27 points. Mira Mesa (13-4, 1-1) led 32-12 at halftime.

Morse 61, Point Loma 47--Turine Bunch made four three-pointers and had a game-high 15 points for Morse (11-4, 2-0). Shaunta Baker led Point Loma (10-7, 1-1) with 12 points.

City Harbor League

Clairemont 73, Marian 32--Junior forward John Brady had a triple double--12 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists--and Craig Mounier had 17 rebounds for Clairemont (6-7, 1-1).

City Western League

Kearny 72, University City 49--No. 4 Kearny gave University City a tough time of it, especially on the boards where the Komets (18-1, 2-0) had a 38-18 edge. Barry Waits’ 19 points led UC (9-6, 1-1).

Mission Bay 56, La Jolla 55--Mission Bay (6-11, 1-1) won when Bucanneer Case Lowary missed a free throw. Lowary, who was fouled with seven seconds to go and his team trailing by two, made the front end of a one-and-one. When he missed the second shot, teammate Kirk Hartley was there to put in the rebound basket. Rick Moe kept Mission Bay close by converting five of seven three-pointers and providing 15 points. La Jolla fell to 5-11, 0-1.

Grossmont 3-A League

Helix 65, Granite Hills 62--Helix converted nine of 11 free throws in the fourth quarter to win at Granite Hills. Helix (12-5, 2-1) was led by two seniors who both scored 18 points, Lloyd Lake and Kevin Hagen. Lake, a forward, also pulled down 12 rebounds. Helix trailed at halftime, 32-30, and led Granite Hills 50-44 after three quarters.

Grossmont 2-A League

West Hills 59, El Cajon Valley 53--Mike Campbell scored 18 points, Tony Simoncini 16 and Mike Casteneda 10 to lead West Hills (7-9, 2-0). El Cajon Valley played without its leading scorer, Mike Stadler, but got 22 points from Mark Boykins and 18 from Mike Harris.

El Capitan 68, Santana 49--Bryan Hawkins led El Capitan (9-10, 2-2) with 19 points and Dylan Smith had 13 points, including three three pointers. Mark Bennett scored 19 to lead Santana.

Metro Conference

Bonita Vista 67, Southwest 54--Frank Peralta scored 24 points, and Gerald Rhoden scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, to lead Bonita Vista (10-8, 5-1). Chaz Abbott added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Southwest (8-9, 4-3) got big night from Tony Diaz (17 points), Leo Vargas (15) and Dewayne McBride (13).

Chula Vista 78, Castle Park 55--Chula Vista (12-8, 5-2) outscored Castle Park (7-9, 3-4) 18-4 in the second quarter, when the Trojans were hurt by poor shot selection, free-throw shooting (0-for-4) and rebounding. Chula Vista outrebounded the hosts, 49-32. Alberto Marzan (23 points) and Jerome Green (21) led the Spartans.

Sweetwater 69, Hilltop 35--The Red Devils held Hilltop to 14 points in the second and third quarters, where Sweetwater managed to score 33. The Lancers were rendered helpless in rebounding, where Sweetwater (8-11, 6-1) had the upper hand, 47-12. Richard Adams (21 points), Guillermo Sanchez (18) and Tommy Keough (14) led Sweetwater.

Palomar League

Vista 80, Poway 71--No. 8 Vista (12-5, 6-0) had the usual night, making 11 three-point baskets and upsetting No. 3 Poway (15-5, 4-2). Vista trailed by seven in the fourth quarter, but Jason Barnes (29 points) made his fourth three-pointer and was intentionally fouled; he made one free throw, then Dave Enger scored on the automatic possession to tie the game at 60. Poway never led again.

Fallbrook 77, San Dieguito 62--Chris Miller scored 23 points, and Brandon Phillips added 18 to help host Fallbrook (12-6, 2-4) rally from a six-point halftime deficit with 52 points in the final two quarters to defeat San Dieguito. Craig Vilhauer led the Mustangs (9-9, 2-4) with 21 points.

Rancho Buena Vista 58, Orange Glen 36--Orange Glen (2-14, 0-6) bolted to a 17-8 first quarter lead, but scored just 19 points over the next three quarters, including two in the third. Pat Pullin ignited RBV’s 15-2 third quarter scoring edge with his rebounding; he finished with nine, including six offensive boards. Teammate James VanderVeur had five steals and 14 points, and Evan Osmundson had nine rebounds. RBV is 8-11, 1-5.

Torrey Pines 65, Mt. Carmel 55--Falcons’ Eddie Montavlo broke open a five-point game with three of his four three-pointers in the third quarter. Peter Bates scored 15 points and Scot Pollard added 11 points and nine rebounds for top-ranked Torrey Pines (15-3, 6-0). Jason Sammons scored a game-high 19 points for Mt. Carmel (10-7, 3-3).

Nonleague

San Diego 44, USDHS 43--With his team trailing by one and only 0:10 left, Yusef Hasan of San Diego made two free throws to give San Diego (7-6, 0-1) the victory.

Serra 70, Coronado 57--Jason Switzer and Layne Beaubien (six three-pointers) led Coronado (3-15) with 20 points apiece against Serra (7-5). Tony Etheridge led the Conquistadors (8-5) with 23 points.
