Atlanta pitcher John Smoltz and second baseman Jeff Treadway each agreed to one-year contracts to avoid arbitration. Treadway will make $1,262,500. Terms were not released for Smoltz. Toronto pitcher Todd Stottlemyre signed a one-year contract for $1.2 million.
