Chris Eubank knocked down Thulane (Sugar Boy) Malinga during the fifth round and won a split decision to retain his World Boxing Organization super-middleweight title in Birmingham, England.

Eubank’s last opponent, Michael Watson of Britain, still hospitalized with brain damage from the punch that ended September’s fight. After beating Malinga, Eubank said: “I don’t know if you’re looking on TV but please, Michael, recover.”
