HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP : Stanton Sparks Castle Park by Sweetwater

Castle Park’s Bobby Stanton scored 18 of his game-high 21 points in the decisive third quarter Monday as the Trojans defeated Sweetwater, 67-60, in a Metro Conference game.

Stanton’s hot hand enabled Castle Park (10-10, 6-5) to outscore the Red Devils, 27-20, in the third quarter.

Southwest 55, Montomery 54, OT--Leo Vargas scored seven of Southwest’s eight points in overtime, and the Raiders (11-10, 7-4) got a break when Montgomery (4-16, 1-10) received a technical with 12 seconds left for calling a time out when it had none remaining.

Chula Vista 74, Mar Vista 64--Chula Vista’s Lamar Bailey set a school record with 15 assists, which helped Jerome Green score 33 points, 14 in the second quarter. Andy Duran had 14 rebounds for Chula Vista 15-9, 8-3). Mark King made five of five three-point attempts and finished with 21 points for Mar Vista (9-10, 4-6).
