ROUNDUP : San Diego Women Keep Loyola Winless in WCC Play, 68-49

Serena Eiermann and Jill Shaver each scored 12 points as the University of San Diego women’s basketball team defeated Loyola Marymount, 68-49, in a West Coast Conference game Saturday night at San Diego.
San Diego (8-13 overall, 3-6 in WCC play) led, 46-35, with 10 minutes 56 seconds left in the game, then went on a 21-6 run to secure the victory.
Tanya White led the Lions with 17 points. Joelle Longobardi returned after a one-game suspension and scored 10 points.
Loyola, which has lost 16 of 17 games, is 6-17 and 0-10. The Lions play host to Pepperdine on Saturday at 5:20 p.m.
The Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s basketball team ran its winning streak to five games Saturday with an 63-60 California Collegiate Athletic Assn. victory at Cal State Los Angeles.
The victory clinches second place in the CCAA for the Toros (16-9, 8-2). Cal Poly Pomona clinched first place with a 69-55 victory over Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday night.
The victory assures the Toros of their best record since the 1984-85 season.
Dominguez Hills center Cheri Bullet led all scorers with 22 points. Junior forward Denise Slater added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Traci Daniels led the Golden Eagles (9-17, 2-9) with 19 points. Renee Dabney added 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Loyola Marymount men’s volleyball team was defeated by UC Santa Barbara, 10-15, 15-5, 15-11, 15-10, and Cal State Long Beach, 15-9, 15-9, 15-6, at the Asics Grand Prix tournament at San Diego State on Saturday.
The Lions are 2-10.
