COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Simec Pitches Cypress to a 7-3 Victory

After allowing three first-inning runs, Pat Simec settled down to pitch eight scoreless innings and Cypress defeated Allan Hancock, 7-3, Thursday in a nonconference baseball game.
Simec (1-0), a freshman right-hander who graduated from Brea-Olinda High, pitched a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking seven as the Chargers improved to 10-3.
Tony Martinez and Andy Gonzales had run-scoring triples for Cypress during a four-run second inning.
In nonconference women’s tennis:
Saddleback 9, San Diego City 0--Jaime Fouret won her singles match, 6-0, 6-0, to lead the sweep for Saddleback.
