OUTLOOK
El Dorado returns 12 players from the team that finished in a tie for fourth place last season, and Graham is excited about the team’s prospects this year. “We’re three- or four-deep in some positions,” Graham said. “I think I could field two varsity teams. That’s how much talent I have.” At the top of the list are three strong pitchers--Miller, Tom and Hamer. Miller, who struck out 10 of the 11 batters she faced in one relief appearance last season, and Tom likely will battle for the No. 1 spot. Graham says she has a fast, aggressive team that will be even better when Yoshina, Clifford, Jones and Tonjes return from the basketball team that advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs. “Last year we were really tough defensively, and I think with the talent we have we’ll be just as tough this year,” Graham said. “But I believe our offense is going to be much stronger.”
