GARDEN GROVE : Alamitos School Principal Honored

Principal Lou Drexel of Alamitos Intermediate School has been named Middle School Administrator of the Year by the county chapter of the Assn. of California Administrators.
Drexel, who joined the district in 1962, is also now a nominee for the State Administrator of the Year, according to district spokesman Alan Trudell. He began his career as a history teacher at Santiago High School and has also worked at Irvine Intermediate School, Pacifica and Bolsa Grande High schools. He and his wife, Marlene, a first-grade teacher at Monroe Elementary School, live in Garden Grove.
