John Halagan to Succeed Shannon as Basketball Coach at Woodbridge

John Halagan, an assistant basketball coach at Woodbridge High School, was named Wednesday the school’s new head coach. He replaces Bill Shannon, who resigned for personal reasons.

Halagan has been a science teacher at Woodbridge the past nine years and was Shannon’s top assistant the past six seasons.

Woodbridge was 18-17 last season, finishing second to Tustin in the Sea View League. The Warriors advanced to the quarterfinals of the Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs before losing to Oxnard Rio Mesa.
