JULIAN : Child Killed When Car Backs Over Him
A 1-year-old boy was killed early Wednesday in Julian when a car driven by his grandmother backed out of a driveway and crushed the child, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Jonathan Tollard was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego but died of head injuries 35 minutes later.
Sandra Tollard, 45, the child’s grandmother, said she never saw the baby boy, who was behind the right rear tire of her car as she backed out onto Old Julian Highway.
