Mark Wasikowski and Chris Sheff drove in two runs apiece and Derek Wallace gave up only three hits in 7 2/3 innings Sunday as Pepperdine beat Washington, 11-0, in the NCAA Division I West Regional.

Pepperdine (43-10-1) is the only remaining team with no losses in the tournament and already has a berth in Monday’s championship game. The Waves will play Hawaii.

The Waves, champions of the West Coast Conference, have won 15 consecutive games and 25 of their last 27.

Washington (39-20) suffered its first loss in the double-elimination tournament. The Huskies, champions of the Pacific 10 Northern Division, beat Arizona, 6-5, Friday and Fresno State, 4-3, Saturday.

Wallace (3-2) had nine strikeouts and struck out the side in the second and seventh innings.

“I didn’t think I had that great of stuff, but it worked--and I’m not complaining,” Wallace said.

Said Wave Coach Andy Lopez: “To tell you the truth, it was not real pretty, but effective. He (Wallace) was behind the count a little, but he was doing something right.”

Only one Washington runner got as far as third base--Jeff Weible on a third-inning triple.

Steve Rodriguez had three hits and two stolen bases for Pepperdine, which scored six unearned runs on three errors and two passed balls.
