Riverside’s Hicks Wins Speedway Main Event

COSTA MESA — Gary Hicks of Riverside won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 3,247 Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Hicks got the gate and led from wire-to-wire. Louis Kossuth of Brea beat out Mike Faria of Colton for second. Scott Brant of Riverside was fourth.
