PREP NOTES

Tustin High School assistant Andy Ground was approved Monday night by the Tustin Unified High School District as the boys’ varsity basketball coach, replacing Tom McCluskey. McCluskey resigned last month to become an assistant at Saddleback College.

Ground played at Saddleback College and the University of Hawaii Hilo and then played professionally for one season in Europe. He joined Tustin’s staff as an assistant in 1985 under former coach Tim O’Brien and remained when McCluskey came to Tustin from Fontana the following season.
