BONSALL : Passenger Thrown From Truck, Killed
A 32-year-old Rialto man was killed when he was ejected from the bed of a pickup that ran off the road, officials said.
The truck was going east on California 76 in Bonsall, about a mile west of Olive Hill Road, at 7:20 p.m Saturday when it hit a power pole on a curve while traveling 60 to 70 m.p.h., the California Highway Patrol said.
Jose Alvarez Arias died at the scene, the medical examiner’s office said.
The driver, Alfonso Granados, 27, and the passenger in the truck’s cab, Miguel Garcia, 26, both from Rialto, were treated for moderate injuries at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. Both were wearing seat belts, officials said.
