SAN DIEGO : Two Hospitalized After Arguments

Two men were hospitalized after they received chest wounds in separate weekend arguments, police said.

In the first incident, an unidentified man was stabbed in the heart by another man after a heated argument at 7:13 p.m. Friday at 25th Street and Imperial Avenue, police said.

The suspect escaped by fleeing on a westbound trolley, police said.

The victim was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was operated on Friday night and placed on a respirator. He was in critical condition Saturday, hospital officials said.

In the other incident, 20-year-old Antonio Lepe was shot once in the upper left side of his chest at 10:39 p.m. Friday after an argument with a teen-ager in the 300 block of Northgate Street, police said. The teen-ager was being sought.

Lepe was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was in serious condition Saturday, hospital officials said.
