PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Two Showed Up, Two Have to Go

To make room for running back Marcus Allen and cornerback Terry McDaniel, both of whom ended their holdouts Tuesday night, the Raiders made two cuts Wednesday.
Gone are Tracy Sanders and Greg Gilbert. Sanders, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back from Florida State, and Gilbert, 6-1, 225, a linebacker from Alabama, were both signed this year as free agents.
“It’s nice to have both in camp,” Coach Art Shell said of Allen and McDaniel. “I’ll be happy when they all get in here.”
The Raiders still have four holdouts--wide receiver Tim Brown, linebacker Winston Moss, and defensive linemen Greg Townsend and Scott Davis.
Shell wasn’t prepared to say whether Allen or McDaniel would see any action Saturday night against the Rams at Anaheim Stadium.
The only player definitely out is defensive lineman Chester McGlockton, the team’s No. 1 draft choice, who has a sprained left foot. Receiver Sam Graddy has a sprained right wrist but is expected to play.
Asked if running back Eric Dickerson, a former Ram, would get more work this week against his old team, Shell asked how many carries Dickerson had last week against the 49ers.
Six, he was told.
“This week,” Shell said with a smile, “we’ll try to get him eight.”
