PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Rubley Opening Some Eyes

Share

With the emphasis shifting toward preparing the starters for the season opener, quarterback T.J. Rubley knew he couldn’t squander any opportunities to make a positive impression. So, he took the field against the Raiders Saturday night with the attitude that every play might be his last.

For a minute, he thought his second play might be exactly that, when he dropped back to pass and was stripped of the ball by Raider lineman Anthony Smith.

However, Rubley returned and turned in a poised performance that included leading a winning drive in overtime during which he completed five of six passes for 57 yards.
