PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Allen, McCallum Still Hurt
Running backs Marcus Allen (bruised foot) and Napoleon McCallum (pulled stomach muscle) are expected to make the final 47-man roster today, but might then be placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Eric Dickerson, who started in the Raiders’ 30-26 victory over the Houston Oilers on Saturday, is not expected to sit out Sunday night’s opener at Denver despite suffering bruised ribs against the Oilers.
First-round draft pick Chester McGlockton, a defensive tackle from Clemson, still is sidelined because of a foot injury and is not expected to play until the Raiders’ first home game, Sept. 20, against Cleveland.
“I think that we had a very good training camp and we came out of it pretty healthy for the most part,” Raider Coach Art Shell said. “We are a better team than we were coming out of camp at this time last year.”
