Coach: John Stephens (fourth year).
1991: 18-4, 8-2 in league; runner-up in the South Coast League; lost to Southern Section Division 4-A champion Palos Verdes Peninsula in the semifinals.
Key returners: Anna Zaricki, Sr., the No. 1 singles player for the Dolphins, is 203-21 in singles and doubles during her career at Dana Hills; Elizabeth Stevens, Jr., was 51-13 at No. 3 singles last season; Anne-Marie Roseen, Sr., will play at No. 1 doubles again but with a new partner.
Key newcomers: Michelle Johnson, Fr.; Lauren Kirby, So.; Susie Stevens, Fr.; Katie Tierney, Fr.
Outlook: Always one of the top teams in the county, the Dolphins again will contend for the South Coast League title with a strong core of returning players. Zaricki rates among the top singles players in the league. “She’s been overshadowed the last four years by (former Dana Hills standouts) Anne Mall and Nicole Elliott,” Stephens said. Mall and Elliott were The Times Orange County players of the year in 1990 and ’91.
