Saddleback received the team sweepstakes award at the Woodbridge Cross-Country Invitational.
One of the reasons Saddleback had such an all-around good performance might be sheer numbers.
A total of 103 students came out for cross-country this season. There are 28 girls and 75 boys, including 24 freshman boys.
At Woodbridge, Saddleback runners captured the Division I boys’ sophomore and junior races. They also added a third place in the boys’ freshman race and 10th in the senior race. The girls’ team took second in the freshman/sophomore race. Saddleback didn’t field a full team on girls’ varsity.
