PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Vance Johnson Is Activated by Broncos
Receiver Vance Johnson of the Denver Broncos was taken off the injured-reserve list and could play Sunday against Kansas City. Johnson had been sidelined since training camp with a torn shoulder muscle.
Indianapolis Colt quarterback Jeff George had his most extensive practice since stretching a ligament in his right thumb in an Aug. 22 exhibition game. After practice, Colt Coach Ted Marchibroda said if there is no swelling, George will start Sunday against the Buccaneers at Tampa Bay. . . . Defensive end Robert Harris, the Minnesota Vikings’ top draft choice, was put on the disabled list because of an injured knee and will be sidelined at least four weeks.
