Tustin broke its three-game losing streak with a 30-0 Sea View League victory over Saddleback Friday at Tustin High. The victory was the Tillers’ first since their season-opening victory over Foothill Sept. 11.

“I can go home now and not worry about the dog kicking me out,” Tustin Coach Marijon Ancich said.

The Tillers (2-3, 1-1 in league) unleashed a 21-point first half and were never threatened. Quarterback Jason Reynolds, who led all runners with 85 yards rushing in 10 carries, scored on a 55-yard touchdown run with 2 minutes 45 seconds remaining in the first quarter for a 7-0 Tustin lead.

In the second half, Tustin got a 29-yard field goal from kicker Jeff Stapleton, a replacement for Zack Matthews, who was out with mononucleosis. The Tillers also got a 10-yard touchdown run from running back Jason Powell.

The Tillers limited Saddleback (2-3, 1-1) to eight yards rushing and 82 yards total offense. Tustin sacked Danny Ruvulo eight times for 39 yards in losses. Thomas had two of the sacks.
