“It’s nice for a change to be able to have both of them carry the offense. They complement each other well,” Orange Lutheran Coach Tim Taube said. “They (La Salle) couldn’t key on just one player.”

La Salle (0-5) scored in the second quarter on a five-yard pass from quarterback Mario Gonzalez to Tim Esquival. The drive was set up when Darrell Diaz recovered an Orange Lutheran fumble in the end zone. La Salle then drove 80 yards in 11 plays to cut the lead to 14-7 with 5:44 left in the half.

Huss scored on a 12-yard run with a minute left in the half. The Lancers got a break when La Salle punter Eddie Magluyan inadvertently dropped to his knee to field the snap. The officials whistled the ball dead at the La Salle 12 and Huss scored on the next play.
