PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Lyght Returning to Practice

Share

Todd Lyght, who dislocated his right shoulder against the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 20 and spent the last four games on the injured-reserve list, says he should be close to 100% for the Rams’ next game, Nov. 1 against Atlanta.

Lyght said he expects to return to practice today with the rest of his teammates after two days off and says the extra week of practice because of the NFC West bye weekend gives him plenty of time to sharpen his play at cornerback.

“I have full range of motion,” Lyght said. “Sometimes when I put it in different, awkward positions, I can feel it a little bit. But other than that, it’s fine.

“I’m going to have to take a lot of extra reps, take a lot of scout team reps and go up against guys like Henry (Ellard), Flipper (Anderson) and Aaron (Cox), tune my stuff up again, because it’s been awhile since I’ve been out there.”

“But I think two or three good practices, I’ll be right back in the mix,” Lyght said. And though Lyght was playing the best he has in the NFL just before the injury, he says he thinks he can step in and immediately at left cornerback and pick up where he left off.

“I’m going to try to take it up even higher than that. I’m trying not to have any kind of setbacks.

“I’m not going to be afraid to tackle, I’m going to be physical.”
