WINNING AIN’T ALL: The Dana Hills Dolphins’ defeat of Mater Dei’s Monarchs last Friday may have been the local upset of the year. But the Capistrano Unified School District is keeping its enthusiasm in check. . . . This week its board passed a policy to emphasize “participation” more than winning. Coaches, according to the policy, “should make every effort” to let students participate “regardless of the degree of their ability.” Some did mention the Dolphins’ win, but the vote on the policy was unanimous.
