Two more area high school baseball players have given oral commitments to play next season at NCAA Division I schools. Infielder Brad Fullmer of Montclair Prep and pitcher Justin Siegel of Taft will attend Stanford and North Carolina State, respectively, and both plan to sign a letter of intent Nov. 11, the first day of the NCAA’s weeklong early signing period. Each will receive a significant partial scholarship.

Fullmer, who has played second and third base in high school, took recruiting trips to Stanford and Pepperdine. Fullmer (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) won the American Legion District 20 triple crown last summer with a batting average of .613, seven home runs and 37 runs batted in.

Fullmer, an honors student who bats left-handed and throws right-handed, hit .538 with 10 homers and 40 RBIs last spring at Montclair Prep. Fullmer said his scholarship will cover approximately 75-80% of his tuition and boarding costs.

Siegel (5-11, 160) jumped into prominence during all-star play over the summer. He threw three standout innings in relief while playing for the 818 team in the annual Area Code Games in San Jose. Siegel, who said his scholarship will cover 60% of his tuition and boarding costs, was 7-3 with an earned-run average of 2.99 last spring for Taft.

Shortstops David Lamb of Newbury Park (Pepperdine) and Dan Cey of El Camino Real (California) already have made oral commitments.
