Amerson mixed four touchdowns (20, 51, 4 and 5 yards) among his 28 carries. E.J. Watson of La Jolla set the section 11-man record of 370 rushing yards and tied another with six touchdowns in a 50-49 victory over San Pasqual in the 1991 2-A semifinals.

Amerson, who was a cornerback last year, has scored 13 touchdowns and run for 680 yards in his last three games.

Curtis, with touchdown runs of 10, 26, 31, 3, 30 and 35 yards, has 55 rushing touchdowns in three years. Curtis also has 364 points, second only to the 484 points Markeith Ross scored for Rancho Buena Vista from 1988 to 1990. In addition to Curtis, Watson and Ross, Chula Vista’s Jim Baldwin (1965) and Sweetwater’s James Primus (1982) also have run for six touchdowns.

For the other teams, Mission Bay got a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown from Cory Young and 25-yard touchdown pass from Shane Stroberg to Sunny Miller. USDHS quarterback Josh Merrill completed 19 of 39 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns to Mike Sexton.
