Nordhoff 21, Carpinteria 18--Senior quarterback Steve Saum completed eight of 13 passes for 196 yards, including touchdowns of 61, 76 and 52 yards, as Nordhoff (9-1) ran its winning streak to seven games and ended host Carpinteria’s bid for its first undefeated season since 1987.

Saum, who has thrown for 1,179 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, hooked up with Mike York on a 61-yard scorr late in the second quarter. On a fake punt, Saum connected with Josh Hawkins on a 76-yard touchdown to make it 14-10. Early in the fourth quarter, Saum hit Moose Colborn with a 52-yard scoring pass.
