PREP ROUNDUP : Flint Leads Corona del Mar Past Century

Mollie Flint scored a game-high 22 points as Corona del Mar advanced to the final of the Century girls’ basketball tournament with a 51-43 victory over Century Thursday in Santa Ana.

The Sea Kings (2-0) will play Troy, a 48-34 winner over Capistrano Valley Christian, at 7:30 tonight in the championship game.

Flint, who also had five steals and four assists, made seven of 21 from the field and eight of eight from the free-throw line.

Laura Zepeda scored 18 points for the host Centaurs (1-1).

In other tournament games:

Troy 48, Capistrano Valley Christian 34--Dinah Shah scored 11 points and Brandee Richardson had nine rebounds for Troy (2-0).

Santa Ana 60, Sunny Hills 37--The Saints (1-1) were led by senior Cynthia Trotter, who scored a game-high 16 points in a consolation-round game. Nancy Love added 13 points for Santa Ana.

Sonora 43, Santa Ana Valley 38--Christine Nonis scored 12 points for Sonora (1-1) in a consolation-round game. Novah Mariner had 12 points for Santa Ana Valley (0-2).
