Bell Gardens 43, Mountain View 42 (OT)--Mark Curiel scored a field goal and Eddie Santana sank a pair of free throws in overtime to secure the victory for Bell Gardens in a nonleague game Friday.
Bell Gardens led 39-35 with 1:20 left in regulation but missed four consecutive free throws, allowing Mountain View to tie the score at 39 with five seconds left.
Bell Gardens led 33-21 midway through the third quarter, but were hurt by poor free-throw shooting--seven of 21 for the game--and 19 turnovers.
