Hatch, who is 5 feet 10, had an outstanding season for Orange Coast last year, averaging 16 points and nine rebounds. She was an All-Orange Empire Conference selection.

This season, she has already topped that honor when she was a preseason All-State pick by Cal-Hi Sports magazine. She is the only player from Orange County to be selected.

Hatch, from Marina High, has played up to the honor thus far, averaging 18 points and eight rebounds and shooting 59%.

She scored 51 points, had 27 rebounds, 14 assists and no turnovers in being named MVP of the Cuesta tournament, which OCC won last weekend.

Other top performers:

Melanie Iwamasa, who scored 91 points and had 30 rebounds in four games as Golden West finished fourth in the College of the Sequoias tournament.

Joan Maurer, who averaged 13 points, five rebounds and four assists as Cypress finished second in its tournament.
