BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Three-Point Play Gets Mission Viejo Past Dana Hills

Jerry Reid made a three-point play with a minute remaining to give Mission Viejo a 48-47 victory over Dana Hills in a semifinal of the Laguna Hills boys’ basketball tournament Thursday.
Jeff Carr and Aaron Vance each scored 11 points for the Diablos (2-1), who advance to play Capistrano Valley Christian for the championship at 7:30 tonight.
Dana Hills is 1-2.
In the other semifinal:
Capistrano Valley Christian 48, Laguna Hills 42--Troy Rodarmel scored 21 points and hit two three-pointers for Capistrano Valley Christian (3-0).
In the La Quinta Aztec tournament:
Katella 55, Corona del Mar 53 (OT)--Nick Roditis scored 18 points as Katella (4-2) got by Corona del Mar (3-3) in a semifinal game.
Estancia 69, Garden Grove 59--Jim Faulkner scored 19 points to lead Estancia (3-3) to a consolation semifinal victory over Garden Grove (0-5), which got 14 points from Odis Craig.
In the Coca-Cola/Converse tournament:
Esperanza 47, El Modena 45--Marcus Jones made a 12-foot jump shot with two seconds remaining for Esperanza in a consolation semifinal.
In the Hesperia Christian tournament:
Liberty Christian 73, Victor Valley Christian 45--Toby Curto scored 24 points and Dave Vaccaro added 20 as Liberty Christian (4-2) won in the first round.
In the Downtown Kiwanis tournament:
Costa Mesa 75, Chino Boys Republic 48--Andrew Banua was nine for 12 from the field with 22 points for Costa Mesa (2-1).
In the Santa Maria Valley tournament:
Edison 58, Paso Robles 55--Micah Kroger scored 22 points as Edison (3-2) rallied past Paso Robles in a first-round game.
In the Glendora tournament:
Brea-Olinda 65, Monrovia 63--Wayne Spurlock scored 16 points as Brea (3-3) slipped by Monrovia (3-2) in a second-round game.
