In the final of the Downtown Kiwanis Club tournament:

Century 49, Laguna Beach 46--Century used an 18-point fourth-quarter rally to avoid an upset and at Costa Mesa High.

The top-seeded Centurions (3-1) trailed until the fourth quarter, when tournament most valuable player Thomas Harmon hit a jump shot to tie it, 35-35.

The unseeded Artists (4-1) led once again, 44-43, when Taylor Butcher hit a three-pointer from the top of the key, but Century had a 5-2 advantage down the stretch.

“Their post guys got some easy early buckets,” Century Coach Greg Coombs said. “In the second half, we tried to make them earn it a bit more.”

Harmon led the Centurions with 15 points, eight in the fourth quarter. Trigg Garner had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Artists, and Taylor Butcher added 16 points.
