THOUSAND OAKS : Man, 78, Dies After Being Hit by Car
A 78-year-old man was struck and killed by a Westlake woman’s car Tuesday as he crossed a street in Thousand Oaks, a sheriff’s spokesman said.
Frank Laspada of Westlake Village was crossing Agoura Road at Canterford Circle just after noon when he was struck by a car driven by 35-year-old Cecily Campbell, said sheriff’s spokesman J. W. Howe. Campbell was driving south from the Westlake Shopping Center and struck Laspada as she turned onto the eastbound lanes of Agoura Road, Howe said.
Laspada suffered major head injuries and was transported to Westlake Medical Center, where he died during surgery at 3:15 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating the accident.
