GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP

In the third-place game:

Trabuco Hills 45, Saddleback 32--April Kargel had 11 points and Dyanna Hatch and Jennifer Ross each had 10 points for Trabuco Hills (4-5). Nicole Wiora had 13 points and Cathy Hang had 10 for Saddleback.

In the Cypress Tournament:

University 39, Woodbridge 34--Jennifer Stanley had 18 points for University (2-3) in a consolation victory. Point guard Nicole Gallardo made four free throws in the last two minutes and finished with nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals for the Trojans. Melany Pearson scored 10 points for Woodbridge (4-3).

Fountain Valley 41, Savanna 27--Robynn Kuhlmann and Julie Murdent each had eight points for Fountain Valley (4-3) in a consolation-round game. Stacey Aliff scored 16 points for Savanna.

In the first round of the La Quinta Tournament:

Dana Hills 63, Foothill 17--Adara Newidouski scored 15 points for Dana Hills.

La Quinta 48, San Pedro 31--Linda Rodriguez had 21 points and nine rebounds for La Quinta (4-0).

Los Amigos 46, John Glenn 43--Trang Tran scored 18 points for Los Amigos (1-2) and teammate Carmela Zavala had 15 points and eight rebounds.

In the Bolsa Grande Tournament:

San Clemente 56, Troy 47--Senior forward Dana Netherby led San Clemente (5-2) with 14 points and added nine rebounds. Teammate Heather Newell had 15 rebounds. Jenny Gadd had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Dinah Shah had six points and 11 assists for Troy (5-3) in the quarterfinal loss.

Western 46, Westminster 23--Kwanzaa Gibson had 12 points for Western (5-3).
