In the first round of the Arroyo Grande tournament:

Santa Margarita 72, Camarillo 51--Santa Margarita led by seven points at halftime and stretched that to an 18-point lead by the end of the third quarter. Kevin Lewis had a game-high 15 points for the Eagles (4-1). Camarillo is 2-4.

In the Fullerton tournament:

Western 41, La Mirada 29--Forward Frank Floyd was the leading scorer for Western (7-1) with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Neil Hansley had nine points for Western, which plays Fullerton in the championship game at 7:30 tonight.

Fullerton 57, Canyon 52--Guard Ryan Hartshon had 17 points and six steals for Fullerton (6-2).

Brethren Christian 41, Los Altos 34--Richard Mendoza broke a 34-34 tie with a basket with 47 seconds left for Brethren Christian, which outscored Los Altos, 15-6, in the fourth quarter.

In the Sonora tournament:

Sonora 57, Whittier Christian 50--Peter Lythgoe had a game-high 21 points and also added six assists for Sonora (6-2), which meets Century in the title game at 7:30 tonight.

Century 58, Troy 45--Forward Darbin Thompson had 15 points. Also contributing for Century was Thomas Harmon with 13 points.

La Serna 66, La Quinta 65--Six-foot-seven center Eddie Ellis had 28 points and guard Dave Johnson had 20 points.

Santiago 72, Southern California Christian 56--Guard Oscar Pelayo was the leading scorer with 25 points. Teammate David Castro had 12.

In the Dos Pueblos tournament:

Dana Hills 57, Carpinteria 36--Adam Lasnier had 19 points, including five three-pointers, for Dana Hills (3-4).

In the San Jose Valley Christian tournament:

Capistrano Valley Christian 58, Monte Vista 55--Chuck Carlsen scored 17 points for the Eagles (6-0) in a first-round game.

In a nonleague boys’ game:

Esperanza 49, El Modena 47--Junior Mike Thimgan made two free throws with two seconds left in the game to give Esperanza (6-2) the victory. El Modena led, 25-22, at the half, but Esperanza outscored El Modena, 17-11, in the third quarter to go ahead, 39-36. Marcus Jones led Esperanza with 14 points.

Mission Viejo 59, Laguna Beach 52--Senior guard Jeff Carr had 20 points and teammate David Bayer added 17 for Mission Viejo (3-3). Laguna Beach is 5-2.
