Washington 90, Dorsey 76--Paced by a fast 10-2 start led by four opening baskets by junior forward Dayron Harris, Washington defeated Dorsey in the semifinal round of the L.A. Officials tournament at Washington.
Held in check by the Washington defense, the Dons did not score until Will O’Neal connected with 4:50 left in the first period. Generals guard Craige Slaughter led all scorers with 25 points.
Harris was benched with four fouls with 2:55 remaining in the second period and returned with 4:30 left in the game. The Dons mounted a strong comeback attempt, led by Davey Fortson and Kenya Wilkins, who each scored 20 points. But Dorsey could only come as close as 52-48 in the third period.
