In the Above The Rim Tournament:

Mater Dei 85, Santa Barbara 60--Top-ranked Mater Dei (10-0) trailed by two after the first quarter but pulled away by outscoring Santa Barbara by 20 points in the second half at San Diego State. Marmet Williams led Mater Dei with 22 points. Teodore Russinov scored 22 for Santa Barbara.

In the Pepsi Brea-Olinda Christmas Tournament:

Sunny Hills 50, La Mirada 47 (OT)--Mario Bertuol scored 17 points to help Sunny Hills slip past La Mirada, which got 17 points from Kelley Hambrick.

British Columbia Maple Ridge 74, Brea-Olinda 68 (2OT)--Rod James scored 27 points to lead British Columbia Maple Ridge (15-3), which outscored Brea-Olinda, 9-3, in the second overtime. Wayne Spurlock led Brea-Olinda (3-8) with 27 points.

Rancho Alamitos 55, St. Francis 53--Helmut Bustamante and Edward Taylor scored 20 points each for Rancho Alamitos. Taylor made four three-pointers.

In the Coast Christmas Classic:

Newport Harbor 53, Mission Viejo 47--Paul Tayyar had 15 points, nine on three-point shots, for Newport Harbor (6-3). Eric Vallely added 13 points for the Sailors.

Edison 53, El Modena 46--Cahmicah Kroegn had 18 points and Kyle Murphy had 17 points to lead Edison past El Modena.

Tustin 70, Santa Ana Valley 53--Rod Scheurman scored 25 points to lead Tustin to a first-round victory over Santa Ana Valley, which got 15 points from Anthony Porter.

Esperanza 51, Righetti 42--Marcus Jones had 17 points and Rashaan Clark added 16 for Esperanza (7-2).

Corona del Mar 51, Glendale Hoover 50--Todd Merriman scored 13 points as Corona del Mar got by Glendale Hoover, which got 22 points from Chad Reese.

Estancia 64, Parkrose of Oregon 38--Jim Faulkner scored 24 points to lead Estancia (5-6).

Irvine 53, Dana Hills 39--Jim French scored 16 points for Irvine.

In the Canyon Tournament:

Canyon 59, Bolsa Grande 40--Brian Jalowiec scored 17 points to lead Canyon (8-2) to a first-round victory over Bolsa Grande (4-3), which got 16 points from Robert Fierro.

Servite 51, Australia Nunawading 32--David Downs had 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Servite (2-5).

Magnolia 86, Canyon JV 44--Demetrius Malfie and Brandon Hearvey scored 16 and 14 points, respectively, for Magnolia, while Brian Owens had nine points for Canyon JV.

In the Chino Tournament:

Fullerton 66, Chino 63--Chad Murray had 35 points and nine rebounds for Fullerton (7-3), while teammate Gabe Viramontes scored 17 points and had five assists. Chino is 8-3.
