GET SMART: Santa Ana Unified School District students with good grades now can flaunt it when job hunting. The district is setting up a “smart card” program in which students will get laminated cards detailing their grade-point average and any skills, such as being bilingual. Says the district’s Diane Thomas: “Smart cards will show that school performance really does count in getting a job.”
