Offensive tackle William Knight of Antelope Valley College and quarterback Eric Kiesau of Glendale top a list of five junior college players from the region who have made commitments to continue their football careers at four-year schools.

Knight (6-foot-8, 335 pounds), an All-Foothill Conference selection and the leader of the Marauders’ massive offensive line, will attend Brigham Young.

Kiesau (5-11, 180), who passed for 1,805 yards and 16 touchdowns, will attend Northern Arizona. He was an All-Western State Conference North Division selection and earned honorable-mention honors on the J.C. Grid-Wire All-American team.

Kicker Brad Faunce (Nevada Las Vegas), wide receiver Angel Martinez (Northern Arizona) and tailback Leon Gable (Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.), all of Glendale, also have made commitments.

Faunce, an all-state and All-WSC North Division selection, scored 60 points for the Vaqueros this season, converting 48 of 53 extra points and four of 12 field-goal attempts. He also averaged 40.2 yards a punt.

Martinez (5-9, 165) was an All-WSC North Division selection and earned all-state honorable mention honors after leading WSC players in receptions (45) and reception yardage (774).

Gable (5-6, 150) gained 513 yards and scored six touchdowns in 73 carries to earn second-team All-North Division honors.

In other developments, defensive back Jason Stanley has transferred from Cal State Fullerton to Utah. Stanley was an All-WSC North Division selection for Glendale in 1991. He transferred to Utah because Fullerton has dropped its football program for the 1993 season.
