Reeves Is Hired to Coach Giants
Dan Reeves accepted the job of rebuilding the two-time Super Bowl champion New York Giants Tuesday, saying he had no qualms about being the team’s third choice.
“It doesn’t make a difference with me,” Reeves said. “The main thing is that I’m their last choice.”
Reeves, 49, who led the Denver Broncos to three Super Bowl appearances, replaces Ray Handley, who was fired in late December. Reeves will reportedly earn $4 million over five years.
The Giants were turned down by their top two choices--Boston College Coach Tom Coughlin, who chose to stay in the collegiate ranks, and Dallas Cowboy defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt, who took the Chicago Bears’ job last week.
