People’s Picks: “A Few Good Men” was the top winner at Tuesday’s 19th annual People’s Choice Awards, taking honors for best film, best dramatic film and best actress (Demi Moore). “Sister Act” garnered trophies for best comedy film (tied with “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York”) and comedy film actress (Whoopi Goldberg). Goldberg was also named favorite film actress; other double winners were Kevin Costner (for film actor and dramatic film actor) and Garth Brooks (male musical performer and male country performer). Other winners included Steve Martin (comedy film actor), “Home Improvement” (comedy series), “L.A. Law” (drama series), Tim Allen (male TV star), Candice Bergen (female TV star) and Whitney Houston (female musical performer). The program also included a special tribute to “Cheers.”
