St. Margaret’s Rodriguez a Hit

Lupe Rodriguez had five hits and had a school-record seven RBIs to lead St. Margaret’s to a 27-2 victory over Los Angeles Pilgrim in a nonleague baseball game Monday at Cook Park in San Juan Capistrano.

Rodriguez, a junior catcher, had four doubles and four runs scored. St. Margaret’s (3-0), which had 22 hits, scored 10 runs in the first inning and led 19-0 after three innings.

Rick Miller had three hits and five runs scored and Dean Kim had three hits and three RBIs for the Tartans. Pitcher Jay Cecil earned the victory for St. Margaret’s.
